For the longest time, I’ve held a particular ideal at heart. Which is that I never want to have a “job” - at least not in the classical sense of the word. The idea that I’d simply be a faceless gear in some large corporation, working away in isolation on tasks without any view of the big picture has been something I’ve always avoided. Instead, I’d rather apply the skills I’ve gained with creative, smart people with whom I can learn from and grow with, in an environment where I can have a direct influence on building innovative products that make people’s lives better – a career, in other words. It’s an ideal that has led me to build digital experiences for a variety industries in the Cape Town start-up scene, and eventually to my current role at Hilti. But isn’t Hilti a large corporation, you may ask? It’s a well understood idea that large companies cannot innovate quick enough to compete with smaller more agile start-ups. Well, for a company of its size, Hilti is an outlier.
 

I started at Hilti as CRM process consultant in 2014 and I’m glad that I got the opportunities to grow as a project manager by leading different scales of project at Hilti. Currently I am managing cross-functional complex projects which will be one of the key pillars to support the business in the next decade and I am proud to contribute my skillset and motivation to the project. It is amazing to have worked in Switzerland and now in France and I truly appreciate the opportunity to develop professionally and have exposure to different culture. I also appreciate the great teamwork and support given by the team and leaders of Hilti. The company’s “caring and performance orientated culture” truly amazed me, far more than ever expected.
