If I’m completely honest, I hadn’t heard of Hilti while at uni and would never have dreamt of a finance job in construction. Luckily, my sister started working for Hilti around the time that I was graduating and, just two months into her role, she convinced me that this was a great company to be part of.
I joined Hilti in 2013 as an accounts payable administrator. Coming straight from university, everything felt new, but I got loads of support and training, so I was never out of my depth.
In fact, I quickly developed my role to become pool accountant, which is a mix of accounts payable and accounts receivable. Very shortly after that, I was promoted to accounts receivable accountant and now only after a couple of years, I have just started yet another new role as a Hub Performance Controller in the reporting team.
Therefore, I can testify to the fact that developing people is one of Hilti’s key strengths.
In all of my three roles so far, I’ve loved the variety of tasks, independence and responsibilities they’ve given me, including the chance to work with people from different countries.
I’ve never known of a company that puts so much effort into making its people feel valued or that offers so many opportunities to develop or move around the business. The people here are really special. In every team you come across, you’ll find a diversity of age, gender and race, which is one of the reasons behind our excellent team dynamics.
