Before even starting at Hilti, I was excited about their people and digitization, which I’d got to know through their relations with my university in Augsburg. I joined the company as IT project manager, responsible for the requirements, development, testing and rollout of our new global software for some 10,000 account managers and field engineers. It was quite a challenge for me because, despite having a relevant PhD, I wasn’t used to managing projects. However, with all the great coaching and support from colleagues that you get at Hilti, I managed to learn quickly and stay on top of things.
Alongside the software rollout, I ran another project developing strategy for our customer relationship management (CRM) environment. I then got the opportunity to lead the team in implementing this strategy.
I’m super happy in my role as team lead, as it gives me the chance to actively support Hilti’s global business strategy, while also working with my team on their personal development.
What I like most about IT at Hilti is our involvement and input in bigger business discussions – like business benefits and processes – as it brings us closer to the end user of our solutions. I also love the diverse range of people at Hilti, who are all very smart, friendly and eager to work as a team.
